I started playing with new colors this weekend and really fell in love with a new combination. Something different from my usual raspberry, green and aquamarine.
A recent conversation I had inspired this piece. While trying to diffuse another case of household melodrama I commented that I sometimes feel like I'm up on a tightrope trying not to drop my cupcake.
The minute I said that I thought how fun it would be to actually paint it.
Of course just the idea of painting this averted any and all drama and now when I think I might start stressing out over something I close my eyes, take a deep breath and tell myself to hold on. So the next time you feel like you're up on that tightrope just hold on and don't drop your cupcake!
"Hold On" is available in my Etsy shop.
Thank you for sharing your favorite tv shows on my last post! It's great to see so many of you also addicted to Once Upon A Time. What do you suppose happened to Katherine?

This is absolutely beautiful and a wonderful touchstone to remind ones' self to "hold on".
I love the heart creation you made last week as well. Absolutely stunning, my lovely friend.
Beautiful, charming, and WISE! I absolutely love it!

Oh my goodness your painting is so beautiful! I absolutely love it! I will always remember to keep a hold of my cupcake in times of stress :) Thanks for the enlightening post! And I have no idea what happened to Katherine! Oh my goodness! Maybe Regina did something to her? Or maybe when Regina burned the letter Katherine had intended David to find, Katherine herself burned? Like a voodoo letter? Haha I have no clue! What are your thoughts?

She is wonderful....cupcakes are just that kind of dessert that one must keep close at hand....even if 20 feet above the ground! Yum :)
Yes... Don't drop your cupcake!
Cute and amusing...a meditation piece w/ a smile!
Great post Anna. We do have to remind ourselves to hold on...and also: Move Forward.

Honey Man and I DVR Once Upon A Time and have not watched the last eposode so don't tell me what's happened to Katherine ;o)
I love your latest painting. I can sooooo relate! Good to see your muse totally up and running, as it were.
Have a great day!
Always, Queenie
I have found that in life it's imperative that you never drop your cupcake! :). I love this painting!
Love the tightrope lady, so calm, collected - with "airs above the ground."
I love the red. You blend colors so beautifully. Your pieces themselves are enough to calm someone who is stressed - just by looking at them. I think Katherine left a note that she had another man she loved and left David for him. She was trying to get David to say that he wanted out of the marriage so she could go, guilt free; but he didn't. The "real life" follows the fairy tale and she had someone else in the fairy tale. With the note taken out of the picture, David will never know and will try to look for Katherine out of guilt... I guess our fairy tales were the preliminary soap operas. Well they are better because they have magic!!
