Le Mysterieux Carnival

 

COME TO THE HAUNTED WOODS

 

The message was delivered by Oliver.

 

I read the mysterious note. Then poof!

 

It disappeared in a puff of glittery smoke. 

 

In it's place I found this.

 

 

It was time. Fall is in the air.

 

Time for a little trip.

 

 

I'll need these of course then off I go.

 

 

I made my way out of my city's dry stifling heat.

 

Soon I caught the heady scent of pine and pumpkin spice.

 

 

An eerie tune whispered in the distance.

 

 

In a patch of fading sunlight just beyond the lonely carousel I found the entrance to Le Mysterieux Carnival.

 

 

You're invited to join me today.

Meet Madame Veruca du Bois the Carnival Queen.

 

 

She once loved the Elephant Man. But he broke her heart when he ran into the Haunted Woods one night and never returned.

 

 

I caught a glimpse of the side show and made a note to return at midnight.

Beware. Things here have a habit of changing at the drop of a hat.

 

 

It might be time to check out the Death Defying broom rides!

 

 

I could use a brand new broom. Perhaps I can keep the black one.

 

 

The spinning cauldron ride was a bit much for these guys.

 

 

And it looks like he might have lost a few limbs.

I think he's telling us to get something to eat.

 

I spy sweets and treats at Witch Zelda's booth.

Freshly baked Meringue Ghost Kisses

 

 

Venomous Pixie Ears! I'll take a box home with me.

 

 

Do you get the feeling that someone might be watching us?

 

 

There is something odd about the side show. Things seem to look different.

I'll just have to wait until midnight to see what's going on.

Madame Luna is tending to a situation of the cat mint variety. Her bewitching assistant Lucinda is here to read the cards for us.

 

 

There is mystery and adventure in our future. And paint.

It's midnight and the side show is about to open!

 

 

Say hello to Zahra and Zariya. Two beauties who share the same body. Courtesans from the palace of the last royal Tzarina.

 

 

Sweet Penny Prudence the pumpkin girl who ran away from a corn field in a hot air balloon and landed here at this very carnival.

 

 

Now listen to the tale of Sirena McKenna.

A potion maker living near the waters of Loch Ness.

 

 

One moonless winter night, while brewing a potion to catch a falling star Sirena fell from her balcony and tumbled into the bottomless lake.

 

 

When she awoke she found she had grown a fish's tail.

 

 

 A traveling carnival brought her to the Haunted Woods. She might sing a sorrowful song for you or make you a potion to enchant the one you desire.

 

 

That's the end of our show for now.

 

 

 It's time to say good night to Professor Mysterieux and the rest of the carnival. Let's grab one more candy pumpkin apple before we head out of the Haunted Woods.

 

 

One last look back as the sun begins it's daily trek across the sky.

 

 

My feet are tired and my trunk is filled with goodies to share.
