fairy wand giveaway

Hello and Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful Mothers Day weekend with your loves. I had a nice quiet day at home with the family. We usually visit our parents for Mothers Day but my mom is away on holiday and my mum and dad in law are getting ready for a trip as well. My son surprised me with a lovely handmade gift and the two of us spent a fun day exploring our neighborhood's new food places on Saturday. So a perfect Mothers Day weekend it was for me.

You might remember that I recently did a Spring Wand swap for Bliss Angels. I ended up making 2 wands. One I sent away to my swap partner Lynn, and the other one is this petite version.

It's the same style and very similar to the other one, just a shorter version....a lolli wand.

And to celebrate the flowery month of May I'm finally having the giveaway I promised!

All the flowers are in full bloom by now. They are everywhere because of weddings and of course, Mothers Day. Gardens are blooming, shops are overflowing with petals and fragrance. Everything is so pretty this time of the year isn't it?

So tell me about your favorite flower or flowers.
Which blooms have special meaning for you?

Kate Middleton's understated wedding bouquet had sweet william, in honor of her husband, and stems from a myrtle planted by Queen Victoria in 1845. Tradition and romance....lovely and sweet.

My winter wedding bouquet had gardenias and ivy, and the scent of gardenias still takes me back to my wedding day. I also love old fashioned flowers. Forget-me-nots, peonies, pansies and violets, and for me, nothing else compares to the sight of a riot of hydrangeas in full bloom.

To enter my Fairy Wand giveaway leave me a comment with your flowery thoughts and I'll choose a random winner on the 31st of May. The winner will receive my fairy wand just in time for an enchanted Midsummer's Eve.

Have a sweet and magical day.

Hi Anna,

Oh, what a lovely wand -- thanks for the chance to win it to have a truly enchanted midsummer. :)

As for flowers, I like all kinds of flowers (including some weeds). :) The one flower which makes me smile is a sunflower. For me, they are really sunny, happy flowers. I am glad to see that the sunflower seeds I planted are thriving. :)

Hugs,
Birgit

My new favorite flower is the Black Velvet Petunia. I have always loved petunias anyway for their simple beauty but this new variation is absolutely gorgeous and will soon be in my hanging baskets for my front porch.

That wand is absolutely lovely and I would love to give it a caring home. :)

Blessings.

Kate also had lily of the valley in her wedding bouquet-one of my favorite flowers--i love the smell of "muguet de bois" (I think that's how you spell it in french). Anyway, my birthday is in may and it is the may birthday flowers. I would love to win your fairy wand--it's gorgeous!!

So glad you had a wonderful Mother's Day, Anna! Thank you for offering up your beautiful wand. I love SO many flowers - right now, I am most excited about the Lily of the Valley growing in our yard. I am anxiously awaiting the blossoms. :) And I LOVE lilacs. Their scent is so intoxicating. We have some right outside our back door. And then there are tulips, etc. etc. I best stop. Anyhow, thanks again. :) Theresa

I think my all-time favourite flowers would have to be the humble hearts-ease, the source of the pansy, it just makes me smile everytime I see it. I have a soft spot for roses, big blousey blooms. But for memories I always like of lilac as it reminds me of my lovely old cat Fred who used to like to sit on my miniature lilac and of my grandma, who loved lilac but always told me not to take it into the house because they would bring bad luck.
Your wand is just delightful, I would love the chance to wave it :)

I can't help myself but I love carnations. They last forever and there are so many colors. I would rather have a bouquet of carnations rather than roses any day of the week. And I adore the pink creeping flox my mom planted years ago. It has spread into a lovely full carpet of flowers cascading down the rocks on the sides of the driveway. The flowers don't last long but when they are in full bloom there's nothing prettier. Well maybe except for that adorable little wand your giving away! So neat! Hugs!

Hi Anna,
I so admired the sister wand when you posted in Wendy's flickr group! It's gorgeous and I know I could whip up some wonderful spring magic with it!
I have so many flower faves but at the top of my list is hydrangea, lavender and lily of the valley (they remind me of my childhood-grew wild all over our yard).

Hi. I've been away for a while....and I came back just in time for a giveaway!! My two favorite flowers are Purple Iris....because they were my Mom's favorite flower....and she passed away when I was 7yrs old...and they remind me of her. My other favorite is the Wisteria....they smell SO good....our wisteria bush died suddenly last year...we were hoping it would come back this year...that it wasn't really dead....but it didn't so we are going to have to replace it....I love it too much not to get a new one. I'm glad to be back. I just posted on my blog this morning for the first time in a couple of months....I'm trying to catch up on everyone's blog....I have a lot of reading to do!

Gardenia and Orange Blossom. I have a Gardenia that came to live in the house I am in now 26 years ago. She was only one/two foot tall with three or four leaves. Now she is as tall as my house. I celebrated her on May Day on my blog, underthefloridamaples.blogspot.com. Her blooms fragrant my dish washing and food prep in my kitchen; and welcome me home as I step toward the front walk. The other "flower" I love is the Orange Blossom. There is an Orange Tree in the back yard and when in bloom in the early winter, the sweet perfume permeates through the windows and doors. The Orange Groves around the area also fill the air with the frangrance for this short time. Flowers, themselves, are such a wonder and a miracle; calling for the winds, the insects, the birds to take their seed to another so that they can survive. All, at the same time, being so beautiful to the human eye. They are our a joy to our heart and soul when nothing else can lift us. Thank you for your give-a-way and for your suggestion that we share our favorite flowers. Peace. Brianne

Hello Anna
Well, it is a toss up with two flowers that I adore. One is the lovely morning glory. We had a vine growing among our grape trellis when I was growing up, and I remember touching my nose to the petals and smelling them and the soft feel on my face. The other flowering bush I love is the hydrangea as I love its fragrance and it brings back memories of a school where I used to take violins lessons as a fifth grader...and the joy was...it was the school where my former sweet boyfriend went to school. He saw me there out of his classroom and sneaked out to say hello...so hydrangea's remind me of my childhood sweetie. Those were the days...
And I love your fairy wand, it is adorable!

Well I love just about any Lily, especially the calla lily. It is just so elegant. In fact I had my wedding bouquet made with calla lilies. My other favorite is the peony. It's just so delicate looking, kind of like a vintage 50s skirt with lots of layers and ruffles under the skirt. It also happens to be Indiana's state flower which is where I currently reside. I love your wand and I so happy you had a wonderful mother's day. I enjoyed a very lazy day with my husband and daughter.

Hugs, LisaKay
